IFO files) and "Rip" them to my hard drive. *DVD Ripper* (which is what I use, I choose AVI format and then it goes to work, thus converting, BUT it's under the DVD Ripper section and you can only choose a format, there is NO OPTION to take the contents (.VOB. The program loads, then there are 9 sections to choose from on the left.Ģ. My man, I totally follow your post but perhaps you did not read my questions. I truly appreciate all the help from you thus far-many thanks.Īlso, thanks for your advice Steve, I'll try that too Don't get me wrong, I do want to use a container that has good quality when you watch it. Like the second program u mentioned u said works more with rips but I just want to convert a DVD to a video file, be it MKV, AVI etc. I really prefer a program that is reliable and just makes conversion easy and decrypts. But I would assume it (fab) had to rip it and then convert it, just all in one process so I didn't see the difference between the two. That's really the only reason I like it so much. I mean to say, I guess I probably had converting confused with ripping b/c fab, with all its drawbacks considered, makes it REALLY simple for someone who's new to this sort of thing. One more thing: Rip (or ripping) refers to copying the actual files on the DVD itself (i.e.

The only question I have now is, if I can't, for some reason, rip the DVD to the hd with Fab, than can u please name another or some other program(s) that will do it AND also decrypt it (the more straightforward/intuitive-and free -the better)? If that doesn't work I'll try ripping the actual DVD to my HD and then using Handbrake or the likes. I'll try to convert a DVD straightaway like I usually do in Fab but with those settings. OK so what I'll try to do 1st is use h.264 with a. Been busy so haven't had time to check the boards or respond in a couple of days. It probably does this w/ about 40 to 50 percent of the movies I ripĪny help could be greatly appreciated. I would be really grateful if someone could help me.

I've read though some of the posts on this but I really need detailed instructions on how to fix this issue (sorry to be annoying).

The thing is, it's always the same: they seem to start off with both Video & Audio on point for the most part, then by the end of the movie it's pretty (if not very) off kilter. A lot of movies (and I know this is a popular topic on the forums) are not in sync. I am using DVDFab 8.1.5.9 to rip standard DVD's to my HD. This site is awesome so I finally decided to join after sifting though the forums for months. My username says it all-that is, I'm not completely disinclined in this arena (DVD authoring, ripping etc.), although even that could be an over statement, and needless to say have A LOT to learn.
